On a hill
Out by the lake
The flags of color flutter in the late breeze
Sage smoke drifts between the prayer ties
As butterflies paint the sky
A white wolf circles the clearing
Watching and guarding and keeping space
As we do our work here
As we bring honor and deep grace
To this stone of medicine
As we walk slowly in silence
Down from the hill
The large birds come and circle
Gliding silhouettes
Against the golden and the red horizon
