Together in the Round

Together in the Round

Stand in the middle
Let the Circle surround
Turn slowly and look each in the eye
And fall into the stare into love
Until the dizziness of spinning
Becomes the normal way to be.

The power of that unseen touching
Binds and holds the standing
Braces the legs straight and rooted.

The power drifts into and behind
The vulnerable chest plate
Where the life still flows
But now with a touch more urgency
And with a purposeful way.

We can look together again
Out the window upon the new morning
With coffee in hand
While crows talk in the winds.

And so we now feel firmly settled
Within this new multi-unit dwelling
Where soon the newborns will come
And the elders will pass to the other side.
