Sanctuary

Sanctuary

Never forget that there is always a refuge from the pain,
A sacred place, a safe place, where darkness is not allowed.
It is a health-care-center for the soul,
Where love is wrapped around like a bandage
To sooth the sores that life,
-- in all its glory -- and all its agony --
Gives us each day.

This place is not available once a year, or once a week,
Or a mile down the road, or even in the next room.

This place exists just below the surface of skin on the chest.
Touch it. Caress it. Talk to it. Go in to it. Take care of it.

This is your church, your cross, your altar, your tree.
This is your prayer, your dance, your laughter, your cry.
This is your Sanctuary.
